COMMUNICATION/OUTREACH UPDATES – Jen McQuet

  • Website – Update 95% finished. Tyler has shown Jen how to do basic additions, changes and uploads.  We need to continually keep it fresh with relevant articles, links and news about events in the Downtown area.  Tagging photos are articles should increase traffic and make it easier to find on search engines.
  • Facebook – Currently, it’s primarily being used for quick news, article reprints, meeting agenda, etc. Tim suggested asking DBNAers to submit photos of local art and/or buildings for publication.
  • E-Mail Expansion Push – Need is huge. Karen has accepted the Chair position of the Resident Relations Committee.  One of the major tasks is to secure e-mail addresses of downtown residents.  Krista suggested to make a post-card sized piece to leave in lobbies and hand out at events. Most costly suggestion discussed was an actual mailer send to all 83702 residents.
  • Survey to City Council Candidates – Only one of 13 was returned. Big disappointment.

TREASURER UPDATES – Jen McQuet

  • DBNA Chase Checking account – $208.
  • ZoomGrant Funds remaining – $142.
  • DBNA application for 501c3 status – Approved!

CVS PHARMACY UPDATE – Marty Jacobs

The DBNA was asked by the NENA to join forces with other NAs in opposition to the proposed CVS on State and 17th.  We agreed and signed their letter.  CVS decided to modify its design and resubmit to the City in a non-disclosed timeframe.

REPORT ON SPORTS PARK – Marty Jacobs

Marty gave a broad update on the Sports Park presentations he attended.  Literature was shared.  The board reviewed a draft letter of DBNA support.  The Board vote was unanimous to support the proposed Sports Park.  We will continually ask members for their comments and concerns along the way.
